About the Archive of Strangers
These films, this unique footage must not simply disappear.
Some of them found their new home in the Archive of Strangers.
As a documentary filmmaker, I have always looked for material for my own films that is authentic, that no one has ever seen before, that tells the story from an inside perspective. At some point I started collecting old reels, researching the filmmakers or their descendants in order to be able to use the footage and make it accessible - you can see this collection here.

Exclusive, unique and above all authentic material from the 1950s to 1990.
All shot on Super8, 8mm and 16mm film. Shot by unknown filmmakers, semi-professional or amateur. Their POV conveys the stories we tell today about that time.
All films are copyright cleared, made available with the consent of the filmmakers themselves or their descendants and can be licensed.
